A number of reasons:
1.) They’re delusional.

2.) They know he’s a disaster but Republicans could put a little rabbit in the White House, who just spends the whole day chewing on grass at his desk, and they would be happy because at least it’s not a Deomcrat.

3.) They see an incompetent buffoon like Trump as a

Because Republicans have been the literal worst for decades and put party over country any old day. So long as they have someone they can work with to get rid of abortion access and cut taxes on the wealthy they don’t give a shit about anyone else. Like republicans couldn’t even muster enough empathy to consider

How is it the case that he still enjoys ~80% favorability ratings from the republicans? How?

Tulsa area resident here. There was no way she was going to be convicted, here’s why:

Just want to say none of this was chronological in my synopsis, I lumped them by general injury sites because that is how I categorize things with injuries....

Everyone who defends frats/ sororities always has the same four fucking defenses:

Read the more in depth 81-page prosecutors’ grand jury release (it’s on Buzzfeed...am I allowed to say that here? They normally post the legal documents here)

In addition to banning fraternities and sororities, how about we just ban this entire fucking university? Because seriously, what the fuck is wrong with these people?

This is what I really worry about with sororities and fraternities. 18 - 21 is a time when, from a developmental standpoint, people should be learning really specific social skills: How to build friendships on the basis of individual compatibility instead of institutional affiliation. How to be friends with people of

Fucking fraternities. The Greek system is ridiculous at best, deadly at worst. Yeah, yeah, come at me with your stories about the lifelong friendships and networking and charity work - most of us manage to do those things without also needing secret rituals and silly cliques. It’s all bullshit that encourages groups

They also knew that there were cameras throughout the house. They knew and still did what they did. My guess is at best they thought he’d bounce back and no one would ever see the footage. They never expected him to die. It also probably means in the past they’d done other things they shouldn’t have, it was recorded

And then if things go wrong, you’re too scared to get help because you’ll get in trouble for either drinking underage or providing alcohol to others underage... which leads to terrible consequences.

Yeah, I hope they actually experience consequences for their actions. This story is quite disturbing.

What an awful way to die. I’m sure these guys will get away with what they did because people like this always manage to get acquitted.

Sounds like voluntary manslaughter to me.

When you read the entire grand jury presentment, appalling doesn’t begin to describe what went on. They had even seen a pledge suffer a (much milder) head injury in a previous semester. But they just kept up the same idiocy. Drinking make you feel grown up, gentlemen? Enjoy your grown-up prison.

When my son told me he was pledging with Tau Kappa Epsilon when he was in school, I was scared to death. I worked with campus housing at a different university way, way back in the Stone Age, and the TKEs there were animals that were suspended at some point every year the whole time I was there, finally getting their

Abolish all frats and sororities.

So you go to college, you want to drink but can’t because you’ll be underage for years. You need to make some older friends who can easily supply copious amounts of booze. Easiest way of doing this? Frats/sororities!

College greek system just needs to just go away. I was in a fraternity and was spared the normal hazing issues, only because the frat I joined had just been re-chartered and was scared of making waves. I used it as a means to get socially “out there” and my experience was fine & beneficial for the social reasons I
