Holy shit, I can’t click the star enough.

Blackberry would like a word with you.

Disappointing that the article isn’t about not washing your car.

It would certainly be delicious if the big push we had in the 90's to protect the environment ended up stifling the switch to electric today.

This is fine.  Car companies are shit with security, just buy a base model and hack in the rest.

If you think the aftermarket is useless bullshit then why the hell are you even on this site?

Oh yeah, for sure they won’t go away, but I’m leery of the control over the underlying systems that manufacturers are starting to ramp up.  I could see the day where you can’t replace an electric motor or even swap to an aftermarket battery pack because it would have to come with a “key” and that key would have to be

Yeah, it’s a bit delicious to watch too because I have a particular hatred for wally world. I really try to avoid either of those places where possible and am looking at dropping Amazon Prime.

While I appreciate the humor, there are entire industries employing many people that will cease to exist.  I guess there’s always Walmart.

I never said we’d lose the aftermarket, only that we’d lose more than we gain.  I work in the aftermarket and have for over a decade.  I’ve seen plenty of transitions in the past, and the aftermarket will live on, but a shell of it’s former self.  There’s so much more at stake here than spark plugs.

We don’t have public transit in my town, but I do enjoy using it when I visit places that have it.  The people watching is choice.

This. The best I’ve found is the host file from Steven Black on github. It’s on every device I own as well as my home router. I have also inspected every bit of the code on these pages and only whitelisted domains necessary to view the text and images.

Suppliers should be worried about losing their jobs and no amount of promises are going to fix that.  As vehicles transition from punchcards to iphones, you’re going to see repair shops shuttering and aftermarket suppliers drying up because nothing needs an exhaust or an intake.  How many new cars have a DIN radio

Just like your next article.

Hopefully a driver runs across the track after a wreck and throws some shit at another driver so you can celebrate some good old fashioned rubbing and racing.

Waiting for the “Here’s everything you wanted to know about xxx” slideshows.

You must be new here.

LS swap

Pretty much this.  I'll drive whatever the infrastructure supports.  Cars don't inspire anymore, so just pick the best appliance for your situation and go.

That’s not irony, Alanis.
