MadAmos has a very good point. Read up a few comments and you'll read a post from an iPad 2 owner who says he's going to sell it to buy the Fire. I think you're argument has quite a few holes.

In my eyes, Facebook has already won. My Google+ bookmark has gone unused for weeks. Yea, it's innovative and new and has a better premise than Facebook; but, if you can't get people to use your site, it fails.

So.... like what Google+ tried to do? And now not even the founder updates his stream?
