I feel kind of the same way. In all honesty, in the run up to the 2015 election, I really wanted to give the Republicans the benefit of the doubt and try to find things to actually like about them, because even though I consider myself fairly progressive, I still have some conservative views, but since Trump it’s just

Honestly, I’m not forward enough to really ever initiate a hug with anyone who isn’t a close family member, but if I did, I wouldn’t go in for the Franken bum-grab, and if I did somehow do it by accident I would probably be pretty severely embarrassed and apologise, because I would be pretty unhappy if someone else

But the Academy voting doesn’t really “split” votes, because it’s STV. The only way that would work if each of those wings all decided The Post was their second favourite.

Oh that does make sense. Although at the same time, I do think its good how the likes of WaPo have managed to stay on top of online media as well. I’m sure they get more money from their online subscribers than print subscribers these days.

It sounds weird to be honest. Like if it’s a police profile or something, sure, but if you say “three males have called for X to resign” that would be a really weird way to phrase that.

I agree. There will always be a rationalisation. We had video evidence for Trump. Didn’t matter. At the end of the day, they’re looking for an excuse to vote Republican, and they’ll find one.

Old news I’m afraid. McConnell was previously one of these, making such radical statements as “I believe the women” and saying he would vote to remove Moore even if he won. Now Moore has his RNC funding back, the full and unabashed support of the president and McConnell’s line is “it’s for the people of Alabama to

From an honesty and ethics perspective, WaPo had to release this as soon as they learned of it. But from a campaigning perspective, you’re right that the timing was sub-optimal. Both Trump and Moore went through similar cycles. You get a hit in the polls for about 2 weeks and then the MAGA industrial complex spins it

Being pedantic though, he said “more frequently”, which was probably true. “More land” would be truer of invasions of non-white people lands.

I’m pretty sure he was a dude from Idaho with a pickup truck and a large gun collection and whose primary fear was Mexicans and middle-easterners.

It went the same was as the Republican protests of Roy Moore.

Au contraire, it would make them better.

Burr is actually good enough with this stuff outside of his stand-up act. Not exactly “woke” but he would not be the kind of guy saying you need to grovel at the feet of a Hollywood actor, or acting like these women are all liars.

I think if I was in the audience for a viral moment like this, I would be excitedly telling all my friends about how I was there to see it live.

and “motherfucka”

The followup comment is “I got no problem having a serious discussion about the actions of Dustin Hoffman in an appropriate venue.”

Whatever he lost from you he gained from me. What he did took balls and the world would be a better place if more people would replicate his actions.

That guy just can’t catch a break.

I think it is happening in every facet of society. We only hear names if the accused is famous, but since this started I have been hearing from women that this stuff is just as rampant in other industries (especially hospitality) as it is in Hollywood or Washington.

I like the cause, but I have to say this whole thing of giving an award to “all of you” like the Nobel Prize for Peace going to the European Union or Time giving person of the year to “Protestors” always seems like a bit of a cop-out.
