I think the songs you hate the most are almost always going to be the ones you’ve had to listen to. I think it’s a sort of “you had to be there” thing. It was also long before my time, but I’m sure for music fans when the song came out who heard it hundreds of times, it starts to feel substantially worse.

You really do have to have very few achievements when you need to draw on the achievements of people who happen to share some feature you do (like your skin colour or penis) in order to feel proud of something.

Not to mention that even if things are better than they otherwise would have been, it doesn’t give you a license to treat them like shit.
