FYI the first link sends you to a Dewalt pancake compressor that is most definitely not on sale and not $167 with the nailer.

I guess it’s not technically a ‘peak’ but pulling us out of the recession that W and his Republican cronies created was pretty cool

We’ll probably see the results in late 2020, hit a recession, then elect a democrat who will lead the country back up to a peak. Then the voters will get overly confident, elect a republican again, and repeat the cycle.

They’re widely abused, though:

Agree. I hate the scooters but I can’t deny the fact that they’ll improve congestion. It’s like the rental bikes - they were a pain at first, but now that the novelty has worn off and people obey the rules, they work just fine. Cities need to implement laws so that scooters are the same as bikes - ride in the bike

Dude lives in Madison, WI, not NYC. I doubt there’s a super high premium on 2-hour parking spaces.

KBB does weird stuff now. They used to just be completely wrong, but now they include a tiny little ‘Typical Listing Price’ note. I’ve found that rarer cars or high-level trims tend to be priced very low on KBB. The example below is for an 07 Mazdaspeed3, which in my zip there isn’t one listed by a dealer below

If dealers are now using comps to price their used cars, have you found that they’re also using comps to price your trade in? My experience has been that dealers will shit on you when pricing a trade in. They’ll use KBB or something laughable. I’m going to trade in my MS3 pretty soon, which is a car whose comp is

I think CPO, new cars and leases are a bit different than straight up used cars. I was able to negotiate my Volvo lease way down from where they started, but trying to buy my used Mazda was like pulling teeth. Dealer would NOT budge.

From the jump on ABC news:

Do you have any experience with a car seat in the Golf? It looks like they’ll more or less fit behind the passenger with significantly decreased legroom up front.

Ha! I am actually the aforementioned ‘old guy’, though in my defense I don’t think I said ‘old’ just ‘older’ (which is technically true). Since I sent this in, I’ve pretty much settled on a Golf R. I’m a bit reluctant to spend $40k on a VW, but it literally ticks every single box, plus that 72k mile warranty is stellar

Hey, I made it! While I love the Volvo suggestion, I think Patrick actually hit the nail on the head. I’ve been lusting after a Golf R and I’m leaning towards picking one up near the end of 2019, after I have a chance to see what the 2020 model has in store. The 72k mile extended warranty for 2018+ MY is really just

We Jalops complain we don’t get wagons in the U.S. and then Porsche goes off and makes one of the sexiest sports wagon outside of the (unobtainable) Audi RS6. How are we not all shouting off the rooftops about this?

My exact reaction to that photo:

Just think of it like a lease, that costs $880/mile (for the first year anyway). That’s still competitive with Care by Volvo.

I dunno, yeah his project took 52 years but he actually finished it. That’s a lot more than can be said about most of us car degenerates.

His point was that there’s this stigma surrounding Porsche builds, that you need to be Singer or some other well-financed garage that treats Porsches like they’re art, not to be touched by ordinary peasants and only owned by the filthy rich. That’s why the Safari 911 builds are so popular, because they buck that trend

That’s not what he said.

The wagon that set the bar for all performance wagons from now until infinity. Please bring it back and make it more affordable... Somehow...
