I would say it's dicey to make people 'prove' religious beliefs — the biggest issue here is that she goes to a private school so protections she might have at a public school don't apply. But for things where religious exemptions are given (like, opting out of vaccines), no proof is needed, so I'm not sure what

I am beyond down for that.

Well, considering in the article it says this girl is a "member of the Poarch Creek Band of Indians" who has a freaking tribal teacher advising her on the eagle feather, your suspicion is moot. White privilege is also moot here because this would be based on her religious/spiritual AND cultural beliefs — i.e., if I

Yup, I have used them. My master's is in gender & health policy, though, so I'm probably more paranoid than most.

DENTAL DAMS.

Yeah, I would never ask a friend to play for free, or take photos for free, or whatever for free, but I guess I would also extend that respect to anyone else who is also doing the same labor even if I'm not friends with them. So I guess that's where we're gonna disagree.
I get that her Kickstarter is not free sky money

Shit has no one actually responded to this yet? I can't tell if your comment is sarcastic or not but gypsy is often considered a slur, and sort of lives in the realm of using Indian vs. Native American/First Nations to describe a racial group. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gypsy_%28…

Yo you realize you can do a racist thing/perpetuate racism without like, embracing white superiority and stuff, right? Are you personally a racist? I have no idea. But seeing you roll into a post about someone's personal experience about being biracial, use the word mutts, and then pull out the 'but I have mixed

wait one more thing — if she was totally capable of playing all that stuff w/o the extra musicians AND was so strapped for cash as she initially said, then why pay for extra players in NYC? That's kind of what I don't get? I don't know man, I just think it's kind of a dick move and I'm glad she retroactively paid them

Naw, I was just asking that because I wasn't sure, because I liked the album but the arrangements are huge, and she was obviously not touring with a brass band despite, you know, wanting to play the songs with a brass band as they're written.
I do know there are different rules for broadcasting but I don't think 'she

Are you a musician? She had a backing band of like three dudes and the dudes from her guitarist's band — the arrangements she was touring with were way bigger. It's not like she was hiring people to double over the dudes she already had, it's that she needed a brass section to perform the arrangements she was touring

She didn't have a full backing band, which is what she was looking to supplement on tour with fans — fans who had to submit resumes, CVs, or a recording of themselves to prove they were 'professional-ish' enough to play the gig. Plenty of musicians hire locals because it's cheaper than traveling with a full brass

Why would you need that much money for a song called 'Bleak Love.'

If my opinion is that the earth is flat, that's pretty wrong. If my opinion is that climate change isn't real, and 99% of climate experts disagree with me, that's pretty wrong. Music requires a melody to be considered music? Incorrect.

Yeah, but your opinion is pretty wrong, according to plenty of folks who are, in fact, music experts.

yeah her writing on those movies was really terri —

oh bb Tyler Hoechlin.

Uh being in a wheelchair would necessitate access to the line that leads to the wheelchair accessible entrance to whatever. Having a disability where standing in line would lead to hindered access (say, juvenile arthritis where the person does not yet use a walking aid) is still an access issue. Under the ADA, I can

requiring doctor's proof of disability would violate the ADA, I'm pretty sure.

I didn't know they had these but it actually is kind of cool (I say this as someone with a mostly invisible disability that would make waiting in line painful).
