That apparently getting threatened with rape and murder gets you fired?

I don't know why anyone got fired here, but thank you for succinctly laying out why dick jokes can sometimes be contributing to an environment that's hostile to women, even if talking about sex isn't always sexist.

Oh man, I know a couple people that had those! It sounds terrible.

ha, I only know because I obsessively keep track of the meds I'm taking. Plus it made me feel better about picking Cymbalta over Lyrica which has mad intense side-effects.

I hear that, ugh.

THIS MAKES ME MAD TOO.

It actually has about five: fibromyalgia, pain associated with diabetes, and generalized anxiety disorder round it out.

It was initially intended as a mental health drug; it's an SNRI.

It's been approved by the FDA to treat five things: generalized anxiety disorder, pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, chronic musculoskeletal pain (mostly lower back from osteoarthritis), fibromyalgia, and depression. In Europe it's also used to treat stress urinary incontinence!

Fibro is now an on label use!

On the other hand, these ads are useful to me because when they immediately make me start crying I know it's time to call a therapist or adjust my meds.

Naw, the longer article said it was filmed by a photographer/videographer friend.

Most schools have honor codes that would require they'd at least be benched if they're under investigation.

Man, really? I have a good swath of friend who both read Jez and watch at least one of those shows — maybe my Scandal sample size skews since I'm in DC?

I'm watching Deception and quite honestly loving it way more than I expected. If you like Revenge it's perfect.

Scandal is a ratings monster (not sure about Deception), but Elementary is pulling in great numbers as well.

I was hoping for some chatter about Dancing on the Edge, but nothing.

"Instead, the darker, lamer truth of girlfriends was presented: we ignore each other and couple off because we'd rather be with our boyfriends."

Was that the boy on the stand? Do you doubt that some of those kids who stood around and didn't do shit would have told you that very same week that they knew rape was wrong? I mean, he might be lying, sure. He might not actually have considered what was going on to be rape. It's not like there aren't hundreds of law

That's awesome and I'm glad you talk to your students about it!
