I would say the GM car based truck is as practical as the Luv. They can haul about 1500lbs in the box and get about 30mpg.

But don't tell the Trump supporters that it is made in México. 😄

They will be punished by the fines and having to buy back the vehicles at higher than market rates. Destroying perfectly usable vehicles is just being spiteful and wasteful.

Sure, just like you can any other mechanical object. Suspension components, brakes, motors, etc can wear out, not to mention the typical dents and scrapes on the body or cracking of material in the interior due to exposure to the sun.

They may have, but it is also possible that this material has different properties that make it attractive for the uses that Ford has in mind for it. Cost may be another factor since this is a waste product of an existing process, they may be able to buy it at a lower cost.

Since they are referring to it be a byproduct of the distillation process, it is likely they are referring to the base of the plant, not the leaves.

Tequila is just a form of mezcal made in a specific geographic location. It is similar to how champagne is just a form of sparkling wine made in the Champagne region of France.

Soybean based plastics have been around for years. It all depends on the use case for the material.

Well, I guess if one is used to driving around something that gets 20mpg or less, then 25 would be good. For me, I that would be the car with the worst mileage that I’ve ever owned...most have been 30 or higher. I still contend that a PT Cruiser didnt get very good mileage in general, especially when compared to a mid

My siblings and I would do the same thing when our parents had a station wagon. When we were in a sedan, I'd climb up and sleep on the ledge under the back window.

Only because the dog jumped out the window to chase a squirrel and the kids had a hold of the collar.

Gets good gas mileage?? The best that it was rated for the highway was 27mpg. For a 4 cylinder car with a manual, that’s not very good. My parents’ full sized Buick with the 3.8 V6 and an automatic would get better mileage than that even with my dad’s lead foot.

A relative works at the Belvidere Assembly Plant where the Neon was made. They said that at one point, Chrysler considered expanding PT Cruiser production and make them in Belvidere since they shared so many parts with the Neon. At the time, they were production constrained and couldn’t make enough for demand.

The only way Americans will take those jobs is if all “anti-poverty” programs are eliminated.

Do both approaches along with charging a yearly infrastructure maintenance fee for EVs that do not contribute to the upkeep of public roads, bridges, etc.

Exporting them to a location where they would meet the emissions standards or just allowing a gasoline engine swap would be even better.

The Aussie nanny state making sure no one gets hurt or has any fun.

And it’s still a huge waste.

Then allow VW to fix them, but only allow the cars to be registered in markets other than California. Scrapping the vehicles is a huge waste.
