What will it take for them to join the European Free Trade Association along with Norway, Switzerland, and Iceland in order to shortcut negotiating with all the other nations?

This is quicker if you don’t want to be constantly interrupted by a punchline.

Then why all the complains about the appointees to the European Commission? Lots of different articles have expressed a desire to move to a points based immigration system similar to what Canada and Australia have. How is that based in bigotry and hate?

How much control does Germany have over the EU? Does the typical German feel ok with the situation with respect to the laws and regulations?

Why would Britain be irrelevant? And why France instead of Germany?

Are you sure that the manual will be sold in the US? Remember, Jeep already sells Wranglers with a 4 cylinder turbo diesel, just not in the US. This could be another dick move by FCA to plague the US with more of its automatic transmissions and only give non-US customers actual choices.

The point was there is more money and jobs tied up in exporting stuff to the UK than the other way around (which you expanded on). Why are people automatically assuming that all of this trade is going to cease or is going to be blocked? It is going to continue as is for at least another two years while this is being

The others are more tightly integrated into the EU than the UK, except for Denmark which still has its own currency.

It would depend on the details of the final negotiated trade deals if they actually part (the vote is non binding and the U.K.govt still has to initiate the “divorce”).

I think Musk looks like he needs to do more steps around a track every day. He’s putting on some weight.

Here is another article that refers to unelected people being members of the European Commission.

I guess I misunderstood your response.

Why? The buyer of this airplane is HNA Aviation Group, which has ties to several Chinese airlines. This will likely be put into service as an option for a “rent-a-jet” type business catering to the high end business travel market. Boeing has sold commercial jets for this purpose before, just not a 787.

So you wouldn’t mind some unelected regulatory body that imposes its rules on you without any sort of control from your elected officials?

From what I gather the support to leave the EU is driven by the policies imposed by those in Brussels that aren’t elected by the people and have no real accountability. Think of it as a rebellion against regulation without representation.

And that seems strange in that the CUVs that people are buying instead of minivans are usually less practical (same or worse fuel economy and less space).

If that was the case, Ford wouldn’t have pissed off fleet and other loyal Ranger buyers who kept on purchasing them year after year even though it hadn’t seen a major redesign in at least a decade. When it came time to finally redesign it to remain competitive in international markets, Ford dropped it to protect its

As the saying goes ...follow the money. They make more money on the XL sized vehicles, so that is what they push.
