If it’s supposed to be a prequel somebody done fucked up, because there is a mission that couldn’t possibly have happened before the movie. I don’t want to get all spoilery but I got the impression a main character was a survivor from the movie or the next generation.

Not in Texas and not in most states. It’s only a defense as mens rea which most dui statutes explicitly exclude (even though they don’t really have to)

Driving can’t be done involuntarily, the charge of driving while intoxicated doesn’t require intent for you to be in that state, it requires intent to operate a vehicle in that state. Plenty of people get dui’s for drug interactions and even unexpected results of over the counter medications, and it does stick.
