ktm xbow or is that way more expensive?
ktm xbow or is that way more expensive?
What? That was correct...
I want to call this guy a total douche, but he duct taped a mickeys to his hand and I kinda support that decision.
Most commenters are dicks so you need to understand why I’m calling you an asshole.
Any wankel. Controlling all this with a computer wasn’t easy. The RX8 is kinda peak crazy for a production engine, no two are the same.
Says so right in the article.
But they are working on it, not an outside organization, so accusing them of not having the will to do it is kinda silly.
I’m baffled you feel there is that much resistance, did you even read the article? In these cars getting out isn’t a trivial engendering problem and they have been working on it for years.
Let’s assume for a second they will show their work, I’d rather the lethal part of racing stays on the track. To be fair that nose cone got enough height to go into the stands.
It’s pretty easy to build a car capable of making a human black out or so fast reaction times become an issue, so we kinda have to have arbitrary limits to design around.
I think it’s catering to stop and go traffic, but yeah this bugs me too. The truth is, a lot of these cars will be seen in stop and go traffic and not really used for it’s intended purpose. I kinda wish they wouldn’t include ac on performance special editions just to weed out people buying them as status symbols.
“That’s so though I think I won a bareknuckle boxing title just reading that.”
The gullwing door isn’t wrapped around your head. Maybe it will clear, maybe it’ll shear your head off. You can be sure Mercedes put years and millions into testing it, all I’m saying is we aren’t there yet according to the fia, and the teams, I have no reason not to believe that.
With assurances like that who wouldn’t feel safe.
In their testing anything but the fighter style cockpits were shattering. But in time maybe that’s possible.
There is no roof to support it, you don’t want to eject an object in your own path, there is no way in hell you could wriggle through the floor. These are absurd suggestions.
1. So a windshield? maybe this would work but what material would you use that wouldn’t shatter?
Because if you are statistically more likely to flip your car than be hit by debris you are doing more harm than good. It’s easy for us to say “ hey put a canopy on it” but if that causes another death we don’t have to live with the repercussions of that decision. This isn’t something you take lightly. It seems as…
Yeah that makes sense they’ll put doors on a non caged car, surely that’s safer.
I’d love to see your engineering design for how to release a canopy with a car on top of it without help from a safety crew.
