This seems to be pretty much a non-issue, in my opinion. Most people don't care about loading custom roms anyway. Furthermore, running an alternative home app is an option for people who think that the Blur-ish home overlay is a 'pile of suck'.

@mindaika1: Who said anything about rooting the phone? All that is required to run the apps I mentioned above is to download and install them. No root required.

This phone is ugly and too big in my opinion. I can see why others might like it though. One thing I don't understand about this review... Why harp on the Moto UI so much when it can easily be changed to something else? That's the beauty with android phones. You can change whatever to suit your own tastes. I have

@kylecpcs: LOL This is the best iFail 4 comedy pic I've seen yet.

@beatledud: I suppose that's a possibility, but still seems to be a dumb thing to say either way. Doesn't this guy still make money off of Apple's success?

wow... this just gets more ridiculous every day. Based on what he suggests, wouldn't it make more sense to get a dumb phone on Verizon along with an ipod touch? Again, based on what he suggests, what's the point of selling an iphone anyway?

@Jeff1741: You do realize that Gizmodo is not the only site reporting this story, right? How is it that out of all the Apple topics that Gizmodo posts, you only manage to notice the negative ones? Most of the Apple topics posted here are on the positive side of things.

@sektor503: It does happen on other phones, but apparently not to this degree. I also have an Incredible, and I have never dropped a call since I've had it... which is pretty cool since I live in an area with marginal signal strength.

@konfused: You make perfect sense. If my phone was doing this same thing, and HTC made a statement that basically said it was my fault, I would return it in a heartbeat.

Wow... just wow. And here I doubted this whole thing yesterday. I can't believe they owned up to it. And I especially can't believe they would have the gall to tell their paying customers that it's their fault because they are holding it wrong... but they can correct it by paying $29 for one of those stupid

@thinkthis: I make it through the day just fine without the use of any app killers. Just because you read about some android users thinking they need app killers, it doesn't make it so. They are most likely doing more harm than good.

Forgot to mention that there is an option in the storage settings to erase the internal phone storage memory.

I think some of you are confusing 'internal phone storage' with 'phone memory'. The Incredible doesn't ship with an external SD card like many other phones do. Instead, it has internal memory storage that behaves just like an SD card. When you do a factory reset, it will not wipe the internal phone storage. It

@webdevmike: Agreed. All of the newer phones out now look really good. I'm guessing that most folks with less critical eyes will be able to see much difference comparing the iphone 4 screen to any of the other screens on recent phones. It should definitely be a noticeable difference comparing it to previous

I'm really hoping this isn't a sign of things to come for people who are interested in getting a higher end phone. I can't imagine pocketing a phone larger than what I have now, which has a 3.7" screen.

Voted for the Evo, since it seems to be the best of the two (in my opinion). Being honest though, I'm still quite happy with the Incredible and wouldn't trade it for either the Evo or Iphone 4.
