As King Ginger said, Mercedes runs at a profit at the moment. The reduction in operating costs that the cap will effect, and the buy-in by Ineos, will have reduced their costs significantly as well, so there’s no reason to leave, at least from a financial perspective.

I honestly hadn’t even considered Mercedes possibly quitting F1, but I always sorta figured Hamilton would retire after beating Schumi’s record. Even with all the championships, fame and other accolades, I suppose lapping everyone but your teammate and Max most GP weekends can get boring after a while.

Jimmy is a really nice guy and deserves all the good stuff coming to him. Good for him. He’d started training on race cars already so it won’t be as hard, but he’s got his work cut out for him. I think he’ll manage, and damn if that isn’t a cool invitation even if it only lasts a while. Good luck to him.

Huge for Jimmy obviously but also I think huge for Praga, huge for the series, and huge for sim racing. Dude’s got a positively massive following especially considering how much of a niche “true” (i.e. not Forza Horizon) sim racing is, and the publicity he’ll bring to Praga and Britcar will be significant I think. And…
