$900 is a deal for one of those early 4Runners. Even if it does need work, Virginia trucks with very little rust are very hard to find in the Midwest.

I hate the safety regulations that require the window sills on modern vehicles to be pushed higher and higher every year to the point that it’s uncomfortable to stick your elbow out the window or rest it on the window sill.
My non-existent experience with the Autobahn is limited to watching Jeremy Clarkson complain about semi trucks (lorries?) overtaking each other on 2-lane stretches. It’s nice to hear there’s a place where drivers obey the “left lane is for passing only” rule though.
This lady sounds like a hoarder. Sentimental attachment can be difficult if not impossible to understand, however hoarding is often a symptom of some other disorder such as OCD, anxiety, or senile dementia. And another thing, why wouldn’t she just sell the house too, instead of being forced to keep up with property…
I would say Yukon XL Denali, however they are massive and don’t have a lot of interior space for their huge exterior dimensions. Since they plan on keeping it for a long time, you can’t go wrong with a Toyota Land Cruiser or if that’s too expensive maybe a 4Runner with the optional third row seats. You don’t have to…
It’s not a moot point. I was simply pointing out that relying on a “clean CarFax” alone as a guarantee that a car has never been involved in a flood is not a good idea. People buying $2500 cars should be just as careful as people buying $25,000 cars when it comes to pre purchase vehicle inspections and possible flood…
I think you’re missing the point here. Forget about the price for a moment. Anyone who can afford a $90,000 Range Rover can easily afford a $2000 stroller for their spoiled brat. The real question that comes to my mind is how will this Land Rover stroller fare on the Rubicon trail, or at Moab, or at the dunes?
Carfax and/or flood damage salvage title records won’t exist for the thousands of vehicles that have liability only insurance. It’s largely the insurance companies that report vehicles as being involved in a flood. If someone sells a flood vehicle privately, or to a wholesaler auction, without insurance getting…
The tactics used by this fake site sound exactly like how a typical phishing site would conduct business. Strange looking domain names tied to unrelated overseas geographical locations. I noticed the fake site domain name contains “.com” twice, which is unusual.
I always think it’s hilarious when people from southeast Wisconsin are flummoxed by Chicagoland’s toll roads. Just get an I-PASS. Tolls are half the price of when you pay in cash, it’s only going to cost you $40 in prepaid tolls if you only use it once a year, and it’s so much more convenient to pay $4.15 in tolls…
I know I’m playing devil’s advocate here, but what if this is just an attempt by Ford to market the Raptor brand overseas where 1/2 ton North American style pickups like the F-150 just aren’t that popular? Saying this could be sold here in the United States is purely speculation.
I remember seeing these at the auto show when they were new. I prefer the earlier models with the higher rev limit, over the later ones with the 2.2 liter engine. Honda’s VTEC engines were never known for being torquey anyways.
I understand that a hurricane is only going to exacerbate things, but much of the national price spike is just a normal, labor day price spike that happens every year when tons of people go on road trips and everyone who owns a boat fills up for that one last boat ride of the season and so forth. I suppose none of…
Police in the US were militarized in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. They were basically given hand-me-down equipment from the military to be used as riot gear. Americans have seen the effects of that in events such as the Ferguson, MO riots that followed the shooting of Michael Brown.
Illinois has a law banning the removal of mufflers or the modification of exhaust systems, and aftermarket mufflers must be manufactured to the same loudness attenuation specification as OEM. However, this law is rarely enforced, and with all the shootings and homocides in and around Chicagoland, I suspect local…
That guy must be an Always Sunny fan. He plans to be a traveling, door to door gas salesman.
If they were absent from GT Sport, the consequences of the backlash of Initial D fanboys could be dire. The Sprinter Trueno AE86 is always the first car I buy with the allotted 20,000 credits.
A former co-worker of mine used to drive one of these, it was his cheap beater so he didn’t have to daily drive his GMC Sierra Denali and get 16 mpg. His van was beige, completely forgettable, except for the fact that the Chevy badge had come unglued and fell off, leaving behind a weird faded outline of some very…
I’m not a mechanic or automotive technician, but I’ve worked as a CNC machinist and in metal fabrication in the past, and I’m fairly mechanically inclined and able to DIY a lot of auto repairs in my free time. We were paid by the hour as machinists. There are pros and cons to the hourly rate system and the flat rate…
