I’ve been looking for an cheaper alternative to expensive brand name adhesive sound deadening material. I might pickup some of that stuff.

I remember hearing about reports of unintended acceleration and thinking this is most likely user error. Now my Toyota is missing 1/4 of its accelerator pedal.

They might list a manual transmission on the options list, however I have a feeling they’re going to be very hard to find on a TRD Pro model, since Toyota dealers can’t place orders for vehicles with specific options selected from the factory. They just sell whatever they get, however the factory decided to option

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading your work here on Jalopnik over the last couple of years. It's been a lot of fun reading about your various automotive adventures.

707 HP in something that’s as tall as a skyscraper like that is gong to end badly. Personally, I’d get a cowl induction hood. ..and even then without having the lift it still has a high risk of rolling over.

My ten year old 4Runner has 193,000 miles and weird stuff is starting to wear out for no reason too. I had to replace parking brake hardware (but not parking brake friction material) only on one side. I’ve also had to replace the fuel filler cap because of a small evap leak, and my oil fill plug is seeping oil

Speed limits on Illinois tollways are 55-60 mph, however average speed is 75 mph. I don’t think going 9 mph over the limit is significant speeding.

With this and the NV1500 and NV2500 series of full size vans, Nissan is really going after the fleet market.

Toyota truck. Which was the actual model name in the United States until 1996 model year when they started calling it a Tacoma.

The initial reasons automakers gave for resisting this change are incredibly lame.

I used to wash my car every week when I was living in my parents house. My current apartment has a ban on car washing to conserve water because tenants pay a very low flat rate for water, sewer, and trash so I can’t do that anymore. I go through the automatic car wash once a month. I also used to polish and wax my car

You can get a decent setup for $100-$150. I like Logitech wheels the most. If you want a gated shifter you’ll have to spend $300+

I’m guilty of wearing flip flops or sandals while wrenching on my car, I just start working without paying attention to what I’m wearing. A couple times I’ve hurt my toes dropping heavy stuff on them, or ripped off my toenail which takes a year or so to grow back. Just like in a high school or college lab class

Great. They’ll make the a “standard” that only ends up being used by Apple, and is obsolete every couple of years.

One thing with this article. There’s really no such thing as totaled with a 4Runner. I’ve seen guys roll them over and just keep driving them after hacking off the roof with a sawzall.

I don’t understand why the person in the VW didn’t just stop and call 911.

When I saw the headline I thought maybe the video involved someone trying to reseat the bead using an explosion. There are tons of videos of that method failing catastrophically on YouTube.

I’ve done better DIY Aftermarket stereo installs than the Alfa Romeo factory. I suppose that’s not really a drawback because people who buy one of these aren’t buying it to listen to some tunes while commuting.

It’s just plain unfair that high performance German station wagons are so rare and in most cases unavailable in the United States.

Get a funnel that fits the threads on your oil filler cap, or radiator cap. It makes pouring a lot easier because you don’t have to hold the funnel. The radiator ones are also useful for bleeding out the air bubbles from your cooling system after a drain and refill. Any coolant that burbles up won't get spilled on the
