100%. It’s not flashy but the biggest thing that needs to change for adoption of electric cars to be worthwhile and moreover POSSIBLE is expanding the network of high capacity charging (incentivize it, put ads on them, anything!) but we also need to make our grid capable of handling it. If everyone had an electric car

I agree with this. injecting sexiness is a part of art and always has been but there’s a way to do it.

where I live now in the Bay Area, i ~COULD~ bike to the subway (BART) and then bike to work rather than drive (I usually walk once a week, but it’s about 3 miles total walking) but I used to bike in the city and it’s not worth the risk, I had too many close calls and everyone I know who bikes regularly has been hit

An interesting tidbit: the new york subway has a female voice that gives information (name of the stop, etc) and a male voice to give you directions (Stand clear of the closing doors).

...it’s a press photo? Do you know that a lot of food product shots aren’t even real food? it’s to represent an idea of what it could do, not what it’s actually doing

why is it cosplay?

How will the alcohol sensor be able to tell if the passengers are the ones who are loaded, if it’s not being blown into?

for those with accessibility needs it is not a luxury but a necessity. I’m not justifying not tipping here (I think we should have a MUCH higher minimum wage and get rid of tipping all together by law) but that’s a bad argument

I agree 100% with the benefit of an open bed vs. covered cargo space but having an SUV with cargo space makes having a sedan or even hatchback much more impractical. For younger people without kids, they are transporting adults more often than not and having room in the backseats is crucial, and car camping is much

that front end

I agree that there needs to be efficiency standards that are more robust than current ones. A large issue with SUVs is they do not take pedestrian accidents into account at all (tall vehicles with flat front ends send people underneath them) so there needs to be regulations on that front. In terms of regulating the

They are literally 5 times more deaths in small cars than SUVs. (The lowest 2015 death rate by vehicle type is for very large SUVs: 13 deaths per million registered vehicles. The highest is for mini cars: 64 deaths per million registered vehicles.) old data but not old enough to be substantively different

100%

He phrased it poorly but it is dangerous for straight men to think they aren’t allowed to be close or intimate with other men. Part of dismantling toxic masculinity is normalizing support systems, empathy and sensitivity for men, regardless of their sexual preference.

I like this metric! Mine is 13lbs/hp!

he’s the best.

You should have to turn off safe-viewing, when you set up your twitch account to be able to see content that would get you trouble if you were caught watching it during your lunch break. Even reddit will blur out images and you have to click on it if you want to see something that’s NSFW. You shouldn’t ban someone

yeah this kind of behavior needs to be cancelled regardless of gender identity.

I would say focusing isn’t as big of an issue here once you know where it is because you will be shifting when stationary (it IS a big problem with all of the other controls because those will happen while the car is in motion) BUT you’re right in the sense that it is not nearly prominent enough for a valet or anyone

haha oh man, Tesla’s would fail in so many ways in accessibility. I doubt most things have a high enough contrast or text size. Im glad you brought that up!
