That's one of the things I hated the most - it was so contrived, cliched and cheesy. It seemed to sum up the lack of bite the third film had compared to the first two. But it's interesting to hear that it was a highlight for others.

III also had Michael Stuhlbarg putting in a wonderful turn as an oddly moving alien. I was surprised how much heart they put into a belated third film.
The worst part of that "Hey, some people have alien DNA!" twist is that the first episode of season 6 had Scully reveal that everyone has alien DNA inside of them. So what's the deal, Dana?
If they had allowed Cersei to have trial by combat and the Faith's champion against The Mountain was ED-209 then it may have been the greatest moment in television history. Just for Pryce's triumphant smirk.
This is the third time in these comments I've seen it spelt as cvnt. Is Disqus auto-censoring cunt?
What else don't we know about Gendry?
Should you have to watch the music video to understand the song? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Return of the Mack so it wouldn't be my Hatesong but I've never seen the video and, having probably heard the song a couple of hundred times over the past twenty years, I don't feel the need to do any extra revision. A song is…
Same here, but I'd probably try and singalong anyway if it came on when no-one was around.
I found that Wild Wild West article to be a great read, even as I disagreed with every single thing he said.
Because it's been made many times by many men in the past decade?
Fuck that, I'm going for one of those home IMAX set-ups.
I'm in.
Season 5 was 24 at its peak but the back half of season 3 was also incredible, especially the whole hotel arc and the Chapelle episode.
There's almost no way that it wouldn't have been horribly misconceived on every level and yet everytime I remember that Die Hard 24/7 was even a remote possibility I feel crushed that it didn't come to be.
Also in Shattered Glass. He was great in that as the spineless creep. And I don't mean that as a dig. But then he was helped by the fact the whole film is great.
But your original point made out there were two groups pf people - those who loved it and the 'morons' who didn't get it. There's a huge grey area between of people who got it (especially that very specific point you mention) but still didn't love it or who outright hated it. I'm not the latter but I understood it…
Why do fans of something that other people loudly dislike go to the "you either like it or didn't get it (and are thus a moron) well? It comes up constantly. Lost. The BSG ending. Even hardcore fans of something like Matrix Revolutions.
We Shall Stone You
Ooooh, murder, murder, murder! Change the fuckin' record!
"You're throwing pebbles at a tank! Stop!" is one of my favourite Veep moments of all and I doubt it would have been half as good coming from any other character.
