Really? I thought the opposite. I was cross shopping the GTI and FoST in August and went with the Focus. It felt significantly quicker to me than the VW and I got a hell of a deal. Couple that with every VW dealer in my area thinking they’re selling Bugattis, plus the attitude to match, and the Ford was an easy choice.

Except the ST only sold ~8700 units through 2016 (most recent I could find) and the RS only ~1700. That is not “incredibly popular”. And I say this as a 2018 FoST owner.
