Am I the only millennial who never uses delivery apps? I know what restaurants I want to order from and call them directly or order from their website.

I’m not saying it was the wrong decision. I’m glad they dropped the love triangle even if it left Tahani with nothing to do. Mike Schur gave an interview where he said love triangles are boring and sexist. But it’s funny that the instinct is a love triangle, one set up to make Tahani the typical shallow mean girl and…
What is it with the new breed of “nice” socially-conscious sitcoms? Parks and Rec had to completely rewrite every single character after the first season. Brooklyn 99 dropped that plotline with Boyle’s unrequited crush on Rosa and Jake’s unrequited crush on Amy pretty fast. Even with The Good Place, in the first…
Yeah there’s like a dozen people on the guest host rotation. You can tell they made an effort for race/gender balance, but why Dr. Oz? It makes no sense. What fanbase does he bring?
I thought he was fine. And I love Alex as much as everyone else, but he DID get a bit smirky and eye-rolly sometimes.
Apparently she’s really into all the woo bullshit.
I don’t know if you’re old enough to remember but the early 2000s were the golden age of proudly, self-consciously, trash reality shows. There was one where the women got plastic surgery, there was one where a woman who was adopted had to guess who her birth father, there was Temptation Island, there was Are You Hot.…
This entire show sounds like a joke Jay Leno would make in 2003.
A quesadilla is a superior grilled cheese sandwich. Grilled cheese sandwiches are amazing. If calories didn’t exist that would be my order all the time.
Ever been to chipotle? The hot foods (meat, rice, vegetables) are on a steam table. They don’t do anything to the tortilla. But a quesadilla has to be made hot. I suppose they could have a stack premade and microwave it, or something, but the melted cheese is an essential structural component, unlike with the burrito.
And sometimes you’re travelling, or stuck in an airport or a small town and need fast food and you aren’t near a sitdown place. Then you want something healthy, cheap enough, and tastes decent. That’s when I get Chipotle, which is easily the best of the fast food places.
I think The Middle should replace Roseanne as “Midwest working class sitcom.”
I think “starter home” isn’t about wanting to live in the city and have fun. Millennials are delaying having kids for many reasons, mostly that you need to spend your 20s and 30s hustling and establishing yourself. If a doctor wants to finish residency and specialise and establish their practice for a few years, she’s…
Yeah, black-ish is realistic given the characters are explicitly supposed to be rich.
Thanks for the info. So the Full Whatever is like brunch. A special meal either once a week or on holidays or special occasions. I’ve only ever been to London and a few days in Edinburgh when I was in the UK, but if I’m ever there again I’ll try it. Seems like a lot of meat though. Filling after a few bites.
I have to ask. Do people in the UK REALLY eat an English/Scottish/Irish breakfast or is it like deep dish pizza in Chicago, just for tourists and the locals eat something different?
According to Alton Brown (so...) the Irish Americans in New York adopted the corned beef from American Jews who, obviously, didn’t preserve pork by salting it.
From what I can tell the only difference between the English/Scottish/Irish/Welsh? do they have one? breakfast is the choice of carb. Either toast in England, soda bread or farl in Ireland, tattie scone in Scotland. No?
Not black, so take this for what it’s worth, but I MOSTLY agree. The point was to wear floppy hats and drink mint juleps. While there HAVE been examples of people (Paula Deen) openly romanticising slavery, this isn’t it. It’s basically like people having Great Gastby parties, because they never made it past the first…
This is true. It was a result of a decades-long marketing campaign, long before anyone knew what marketing was. Designed originally to prevent people from moving out of the South, where the jobs were.
