Can they use SWORD? Created in an X-Men book.
Can they use SWORD? Created in an X-Men book.
By such an INSANELY wide margin.
"the best Agents Of SHIELD ever"
I don't even agree with the sentiment, I just can't help but upvote that. Kudos.
Damn stretch dragging the Wests into this "criticism". A journalist, and a police officer. Jax was a self-sacrificing hero with goals of attending college, Tokamak was Stein's equal. The only gang members springing to mind are the Russians from Arrow, the only prisoner, Barry's dad…
Cosmic.
They might play on race relations, or at least allude to some stuff, you never know. Stein already stated his distaste for Jax's music, but that's probably more an age thing.
Genuine lol.
That doesn't mean much, I recommended it to a friend, they compared it to Smallville without even watching it and didn't take the recommendation. I don't see the problem myself, Smallville was good for a decent three seasons or more.
I dunno, to me Arrow is the one with the bad track record, something felt off about the Atom, and currently feels wrong about Mr Terrific. I guess I just don't like that office building being a superhuman hotspot? All the superhumans introduced in The Flash feel like they're being set up properly.
Wait, wtf? I just assumed it was a real illness, I put it in Google and the first hits are Batman and Arrow! Why the hell would they need to invent a non-fantastical illness?
"One of those black men is educated and pleased with his own intelligence. The other is poor and has no options in life except the ones our heroes offer him. Guess which one turns out to be the villain, and which the good guys?"
You don't seem to be the only one to have had this response, but I genuinely can't see where it's coming from at all, none of the episodes to date stand out as bad to me, I'm enjoying the show at about the same level. Will be interesting to see if viewers who are put off at this stage for whatever reason stick with it…
I'm conflicted about it. It has worked well for some characters and properties, and oftentimes would feel weird not to do. And there's hardly a huge influx of diverse characters making their way to the screen otherwise. I don't think The Avengers would have benefitted by having a white Nick Fury, I don't think the BSG…
I think this is a particularly nerdy foible, we're very typically drawn to legacy and continuity, but race-swaps and gender-swaps can be solid choices. It all depends on so many different factors.
Agreed. Just aren't enough Storms out there, though.
"Was there anything fundamentally male about Starbuck A"
Starbuck '03 is one of the best TV characters of all time, original Starbuck is just kind of a poor man's Han Solo. To say it worked is an understatement.
I'm pretty much in agreement with you, though Bond is a white imperialist fantasy in a lot of ways, not sure what glossing over that would achieve. There might be more interesting ways of exploring racial issues in a Bond movie than simply having a non-white actor in the role.
It was the toupee that gave it away. That and the paunch. And the liver spots. Maybe the jowls.
