White supremacy isn’t produced by politicians. Even if it were, it isn’t produced solely by one party. Framing the fight against white supremacy in terms of the sad and shabby spectacle of electoral politics is a tremendous mistake.

We do have representation that’s proportional to population. It’s called the House of Representatives (For an example: California has 53 representatives in the House. Vermont and Wyoming have one each). The Senate is, in theory, there to counter-balance the House by giving states with smaller populations an equal…
Why the fuck should Wyoming and Vermont have an equal voice to California and Texas in the highest legislative body in the nation?
You are why we can’t have nice things. The system worked just fine for well over 200 years and now your solution is blow it all up. The reality is that we, the voters are the problem and as long as we continue to see opposition views as those of the enemy... no system will work. The only thing you said that makes any…
Wait, you look at the insanity that is the House of Representatives and thought, “We should have two identical bodies like that!”? Did you flunk social studies every year or only in middle school?
Because even if it’s a desolate wasteland Wyoming needs to ensure someone is looking out for its interests and needs, which would be unique to the needs of say a Miami or a Seattle. Pretty sure you should be directing your ire at the incredibly stilted, incredibly broken House of Representatives, where the…
This attitude is why democrats lost.
That’s because the Senate doesn’t represent populations, it represents states. By design. You can argue with the Founding Fathers if you wish, but it’s the constitution.
The senate only appears more important now because its rules have been so thoroughly trashed. If budget reconciliation wasn’t being abused as it is, you’d have the senate being the moderating voice in the legislative process, not this thunderdome of politics we’ve seen the last few years.
Um, that’s the point.
Having both proportional (House) and allotted (Senate) assures that one or more populous states, say California and New York get to run roughshod over states with smaller populations. Both liberal Vermont and conservative Alabama deserve representation in the Senate as a state. The writers of the constitution knew…
Please go learn how Congress works. Senators are not proportional representation. Representatives are. They are different. Please go learn this.
Part of how they framed checks & balances. Why should those from Wyoming have no voice? Senate allows each state equal representation. Electoral college & house do not.
Because that’s the point of it. Didn’t you take Civics?
Because we’re a Republic, not a pure Democracy. It’s an intentional means to balance the will of the majority against the needs of minorities. It’s not perfect, but if made the Senate proportionate, and eliminated the Electoral College(I know you didn’t say that, but it’s a related issue,) Wyoming and Vermont would be…
actual teams, like the Cleveland Browns
We all know where this is going, best to get it out of the way now:
How the fuck did this article get posted with not a single picture of the subject matter in it?
Ahh yes, the sequel (reboot) that no one asked for or wanted.
Jumanji:Welcome To The Jungle clearly has very little to do with the original jumanji, so maybe it’s better to think of it as a crossover with The Rock’s previous film, Welcome To The Jungle - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0327850/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_74
