I have the exact same opinion. Now I love those guys, and they still shred live, but these days they're just pumping out three-chord easy-rhyming stuff that doesn't really mean anything, and it sucks that it comes from the same band that gave us:

I'm almost this. I love love love Friend Opportunity; it's in my Top 10 from the '00s. (With The Runners Four in my Top 2.) But the Deerhoof on Offend Maggie was just…a band. A great one, but they weren't broadcasting missives from Neptune anymore.
