I could've had the same experience seeing Sleater-Kinney for the first time in 2015, but that show actually blew my goddamn mind into the wall, so good on those ladies. Wheat and chaff, one wonders.

Right on, friend.
I'll go to bat for their first album. That circa-2005 aesthetic is dated as hell, but it's still an fun, energetic listen.
"Wrecking Ball" takes on a different meaning these days, seeing how The Masquerade is pretty much done for.
"I bought LCD Soundsystem's self-titled debut LP and Funeral on the same day from the Wuxtry in Athens" is a true thing about me that's so insufferable I don't ever bring it up. Well, except now.
Don't let us get you down, friend. If it connected with you enough, you should ignore us.
I still just don't really care for NMH, but I feel ya on the cream rising. I will say until I'm dead that Drum's Not Dead is the best album of the 00s even though, shit, the band themselves wouldn't even say that yet.
Brother, if that's what gets you to peace, call it a withdrawal.
Go in peace, friend.
Regardless, you'll always have your Radiohead. Don't let me ruin that.
Go in peace, friend. I mean that.
OK, "Optimistic" is fine. Wouldn't put it on a best-of anything.
Go in peace, friend.
This very site compared Funeral to NMH somewhat disparagingly back in '04. (Speaking of reviews that whiffed on all-time classics…)
In contrast, artists like U2 and Springsteen [no knock on them overall] keep putting out solid, yet forgettable records that just sound like 'post-peak' cruise-control.
Pablo Honey is a shitty mid-90s guitar album. You should listen to, eh, I dunno, Mic City Sons instead.
ALL LIVES MATTER! (aboohoohoo)
I'll give 'em credit, that's only the second-most embarrassing P4K review of a Radiohead album. We all know #1.
The Paul Krugman line about Newt Gingrich holds very much true for the 'Head, we'll say. I'll grant that their transition from good band to successful marketing firm has streamlined their lyrical process to the point that…ya just swear it tastes like mom used to make. If you want to stay in that place, don't let mean…
I up and walked out on them at the Tabernacle in '13. The initial assessment on this band has always been the most correct one.
