He should have read the manual. Tesla Motors “Autopilot” is blind to stationary objects at highway speeds. This is well known.

Also for some reason Tesla Motors gets away with that. Ford, Toyota, GM, etc would be sued into oblivion trying something like that.

Don't worry, the cult of Tesla will defend Elon an say that Tesla's are all self driving and it's the guys fault. Of course the driver is to blame but so is Tesla's marketing, piss poor camera system in these situations among other things. Tesla should be held accountable for their false claims regarding the SAE Level…

Ultimately its the drivers fault for not utilizing the AP as intended with eyes open to hazards ahead but it certainly is a bit concerning that it crashed like that.
