He should have read the manual. Tesla Motors “Autopilot” is blind to stationary objects at highway speeds. This is well known.

Also for some reason Tesla Motors gets away with that. Ford, Toyota, GM, etc would be sued into oblivion trying something like that.

Don't worry, the cult of Tesla will defend Elon an say that Tesla's are all self driving and it's the guys fault. Of course the driver is to blame but so is Tesla's marketing, piss poor camera system in these situations among other things. Tesla should be held accountable for their false claims regarding the SAE Level

Probably the truck driver.

I can’t wait for the late-night TV ads from the ambulance chasers to start targeting autopilot car wrecks. “Have you been injured in a car wreck where no one was driving? You may be entitled to compensation in our class action lawsuit against the software manufacturer.”

Oh, man, that really was a Twofer— the car really didn’t slow down for the guy in the roadway trying to flag it down! So, it would have plowed right through a pedestrian BEFORE it plowed into the truck.

I mean, what the actual fuck good is this shit if it can’t, ya know, handle what might be the MOST important part of driving - not crashing into things?

Well, it also does not say “Full Self-Driving And Crashing Capability” lol

Plain and simple; if one wants to sleep while they travel, do the rest of us a favour and take a @#$%ing train or airplane.

Durr, stopping picking on Elon, durr.  Tesla is the bestest.

Autopilot failure? true
Driver failure? also true.

Now playing

@elonmusk - we need kitt’s jump function:

truck on its side across the highway

So this is what the $7000 Autopilot option buys you? Cool.

Ultimately its the drivers fault for not utilizing the AP as intended with eyes open to hazards ahead but it certainly is a bit concerning that it crashed like that.

Not ‘til 2020.  Oh wait  -

I swear i was paying attention officer.  I was told it was going to stop so I just assumed I could sit there and watch till it hit.

This is just like Amazon’s new series Upload.

Geopoliticus Safety Worker Watching the Birth of the New Car

The rumor is the driver of the Model 3 was trying to sell some sort of program that uploads your coconscious to a server after you die. Scary stuff.

lol, this cant be true. I am repeatedly informed that true autopilot is almost here or maybe already even here! This is fake news.
