They’ve done lots of interviews in which they discuss trans issues. Especially Indya Moore and M.J. Rodriguez. So something sounds wrong to me too.

It doesn’t make sense to me, because the trans actors in Pose have been all over the media doing interviews in which they discuss trans issues. So something must be lost in translation.
They’re both Jewish, you moron.
Back spreading that lie again, I see.
She must have; otherwise I wouldn’t know that she’s trans. I have no knowledge of her other than what she’s written.
If there was a King David (and the Tell Dan stela suggests that there probably was), he lived about 3,000 years ago, not 4,000. Your error demonstrates that you’re completely unfamiliar with even Biblical chronology, never mind everything else about Middle Eastern history.
Love the article, and love the fact that Jezebel has finally added someone like “us” to its roster of regular writers. I envy your willingness to try different things; I still wear only the one shade of lipstick someone told me looked OK on me about 15 years ago, before I transitioned!
I agree with you in general, but white gay boys suffer from conversion therapy as much or more than anyone else, and the fact that they’re white doesn’t make their stories inherently less worthy of being told. (It would be preferable, however, if it were written and directed by someone gay, and if the actor himself…
So we can see Roger Ailes’s “raw hamburger meat”-looking dick portrayed?
Obviously Babar made a strong impression on me as a small child, because I still vividly remember my mother reading the book to me when I was 3 — a very long time ago! — and being so traumatized by the death of Babar’s mother that I couldn’t go on with it. I even remember the illustrations. So I never read it to my…
The conversation about trans women has already been had — it’s been going on for decades — and rules have been established, based on the many studies showing that after a certain period of time on hormones trans women have NO physical advantage, and, in fact, are at a disadvantage in some cases because of insufficient…
40 years ago, it was a common scare-tactic to argue that if Renee Richards were allowed to compete in women’s tennis, then young male tennis players would transition in droves for the exact same reasons you suggest. 40 years later, it’s never happened. Not once. Your scare tactics are nonsense.
There is no testosterone limit for male athletes, so long as it’s natural and not achieved by doping.
It was a civil lawsuit, not a criminal prosecution. There was no “sentence.”
Back in the 1970s, when I was about 20 years old, I was approached several times on subway platforms, in parks, etc. by young women who invited me to come with them to visit their house and have dinner with a group of people. It was pretty obvious that they were Moonies, and I always declined politely. I don’t know…
There’s more than one Hector Xtravaganza: the one who founded the house and died in 1985, and the one known as “Grandfather Hector Xtravaganza” who’s been around since then and plays one of the judges on Pose. See http://www.latinorebels.com/2015/07/25/an-interview-with-grandfather-hector-xtravaganza-nyc-ballroom-fash…
The percentage of white people and people of color who are trans is pretty much the same, so far as I know. 30 years ago, trans women who were POC were far more likely to transition at a young age than white trans women. They had less to lose.
That was Candy.
According to Janet Mock, there were a number of trans men in the ball scenes. They didn’t want to use the terminology for them that might have been used at the time (“male impersonator,” etc.), so they didn’t specifically identify them.
I loved this finale. It could have served very well as a series finale if the show hadn’t been renewed. Maybe it is a fairy tale, but it’s nice to see a happy ending to the season for trans characters, for once in the history of television.
