And you know that ANY of this is true — as opposed to being alleged in a lawsuit almost certainly funded by the religious right, the only time they care about prisoner rights! — how, exactly?

She’s been a disgustingly vile transphobe for years.

Mel Gibson is working again, despite all the horrible shit he said about both Jews and black people.

Glen Greenwald is a fucking asshole who refuses to believe that Russia tried to interfere with the U.S. election. He has zero influence in the LGBT community.

Stereotyping, much, about lesbians and sexual desire? What’s next, stereotyping about lesbian bed death?

Every LGBT person I’ve ever heard of — of every race — has condemned Milo. Especially trans people, because trans people are the ones he vilifies the most. So your comment is bullshit.

I napped for about four hours this afternoon. Often I’m so exhausted from the work week that I just can’t stay awake — almost literally; the desire to sleep can be overwhelming — on weekend afternoons. Especially after eating! I know you’re not supposed to make up for lost sleep with weekend naps, but I can’t do

Fuck you. Do you know what lynching is? It means you don’t get a trial; you don’t get a chance to defend yourself. It’s nothing like this, and shame on you for using that word.

A very thoughtful answer, MD. And yes, the “no femmes” attitude, and the letters to the editor saying “we don’t want people like that in our pride parade ruining our reputation,” have been issues in the gay community, from what I know, for the last 35 years if not more.

.

OK, thanks for the explanation. I get it now. I’m kind of hypersensitive about that kind of thing, given that my son is gay — very obviously so from his natural affect — and has gotten a lot of grief for it throughout his life, since childhood.

This does raise an issue, though, of the extent to which it’s appropriate

Even if he is, the term “flamboyant” is pretty much always a pejorative even when used by one gay man to describe another. Often more so.

Why in the world is it necessary to mention that he was “Gay” and “flamboyant”? Why is it relevant?

That’s wonderful. After 19 years at a law firm with a relentlessly abusive boss, followed by three years of unemployment, my self-confidence as a competent lawyer was just about completely destroyed. I’ve been at my new job (a nonprofit) for 8 months now, and feel a whole lot better already.

I live in an apartment in Washington Heights — by myself, except when my son visits! — and my salary is $10,000 less than yours. So, doable.

Of course it does. I’ll bet she doesn’t go around touching other white women’s hair. Only black women’s, because she doesn’t think they’re fully human, and acts like she’s in a petting zoo.

You seem like a good person.

Many. Have you ever heard of, say, Brazil? (Among others.) Not every country in South America is primarily “mestizo,” or like Argentina, where 97% of the population is of European descent because almost all of the indigenous people were killed.

Congratulations! When I finally came out as trans to friends and family back in 2004, the process wasn’t nearly as difficult as I had imagined it would be for so many years, when the idea of ever doing it seemed inconceivable.
