My mother was an immigrant (really, more of a refugee). I often wish she had taught me German, but I understand why it was very difficult for her to speak that language. But she did have a suitcase full of old family photos, and one of my very favorite things that I did with her as a child was go through them with her

Hideki Irabu is dead.

I thought it was the Holy Ghost, not God the Father, who did it.

You’re not only a notorious troll but a fucking piece of shit liar. There’s NO evidence that Hitler had ANY Jewish ancestry. Crawl back in your fetid cesspool, you vile monster.

No, his mother did. But Hitler was supposedly so grateful that he prevented the guy from being killed, or so the story goes.

The issue is recognizing ALL of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, including East Jerusalem. If West Jerusalem were the capital of Israel, and East Jerusalem were the capital of an independent Palestine, and everyone could accept that, things would be very different.

I know few if any leftists or progressives who don’t view being pro-Palestinian as an ironclad requirement for identifying as a leftist or progressive. So I very much doubt that what you’re saying is true.

One of the worst trolls here. As shown by these kinds of comments, all just from today:

It happened to me starting when I was 11. The man who did it was a prominent man in his field who lived until he was in his 90s, and never paid a price at all.

Have you read the extremely convincing details of the accusations? There’s nothing about them that’s remotely “suspicious.” The only thing that makes you doubt them and call them “politically motivated” is your own transphobia.

Looking at Article IV Section 3 doesn’t make sense only because you don’t like what it says. It gives Congress additional powers beyond those set forth in Article I Section 8; there’s not one single word in the Constitution remotely suggesting that the former can only be exercised in aid of the latter. Does the

I don’t know what your motive is, but all you’re succeeded in doing is derailing a thread about sexual assault on trans women, by raising specious charges of ageism against someone who’s probably suffered from it far more than you. You know what? Jeffrey Tambor is a disgraceful old bastard, and I’m going to keep

I just explained why I mentioned his age. Because it is relevant. In any event, if someone 17 did those things and I called them a “little bastard,” would that be reverse ageism? The “little” wouldn’t be part of the criticism; it’s called being descriptive!

Bullshit. He’s only a little more than 10 years older than I am. The fact is, he’s old enough to know better. It’s bad enough when you’re 20, but yes, being in your 70s does make it a little bit worse to me. In my opinion, the age differential kind of magnifies the power differential.

You said it couldn’t use or designate its own property as a national park. The grant of power in Article IV to the United States with respect to the use, regulation, and disposition of its territories or property contains no such limitation. In any event, the power of Congress to create national parks, etc. was

So who owns and administers and makes needful rules and regulations for, and has the power to dispose of, the “Territory or other Property belonging to the United States,” as set forth in Article 4, according to your brilliant opinion, if it’s not the United States government? Who else can legally act for the United

If that wasn’t a resignation, Tambor should be fired. If he isn’t fired, shame on Amazon and Mx. Soloway. Disgraceful old bastard.

Reminds me of the section of Vasily Grossman’s “Hell of Treblinka” article (first published in 1943, I believe, shortly after the camp’s destruction) talking about some of the nameless people who tried to fight back on the path from the train to the gas chamber, despite being naked and despite all the guards with guns

There were few people whiter than ancient Britons! In any event, the concept of “white people” vs. “people of color” didn’t even exist in her time. You’re hopelessly confusing the 1st Century C.E. with certain stereotyped views about “filthy” Irish people 1800 years later. Talk about an anachronism.
