It could be a lot lighter without rear doors ...

The 612 is dead and buried though.

The lines do have a bit of a Miura look to them. But I don't think a new Miura would be 'doubling' anything.

Bentley CGT, hands-down.

"Show us a sedan that looks better than the hatchback or wagon version of the same car."

The compact's not just an E36 hatch though ...

Hmmm, there's more to the compacts than them being hatch variants of the sedan.

I saw an RS200 on the road tonight, almost got whiplash from the double-take.

I saw an rally-liveried RS200 on the road tonight. Talk about a double-take.

Compared to the R230, the nose is really squared off, which makes that overhang seem higher and longer. Makes the whole car seem bulkier. Not sure but it's maybe a pedestrian safety thing - the current SLK is similar.

Is that Porsche's active engine mounts in action? EJECT!! EJECT!!

Well yeah ... I think people will eventually tire of the 500's cutesy looks, the marque itself doesn't mean anything to them, and Fiat will suddenly have a whole range based around something people don't want anymore.

I fear stretching the 500 brand out over so many models is going to backfire horribly for Fiat in a few years.

No, it's super slow, like F1 behind the safety car slow. Top speed on the straights was about 160km/h, ~102mph.

Top speed on the straights was about 102mph ...

987 Boxster Spyder, they're not standard.

This looks like a car, I think:
