I could have put a homologation for every spot on this list, but instead, I'm going to dedicate the number one spot to all of them. Lancia Stratos, Ferrari 250 GTO, Ford RS200, BMW M3 EVO, Porsche 959, Ford GT40, Mercedes CLK-GTR, Celica GT-Four, Renault R5 Turbo, Ferrari 288 GTO, Audi Sport Quattro, Lancia Delta

Can't get over how much better this nose looks - takes it from frumpy catfish to sleek sporty sedan.

Evo had to do that on their recent F40 alpine run!

This is a bit Alfa 8C.

In truth, Maserati made 12 examples of the MC12 Corsa, itself a racing version of the impossible MC12. And the MC12 was an even rarer Maserati-fied version of the Ferrari Enzo, itself a Hope Diamond of a car.

Wow, this is suddenly a good looking car without the gaping Tesla fake grill.

1. Your windshield wiper is not your blinker.

On an E46? There was a recall to replace the bearings. E36/7 just got a 400rpm lower redline.

I think it was actually 7800rpm, those last couple of hundred were deemed to much for the rod bearings.

Sure, there's a tiny slot that looks like it might actually be for ventilation. The rest is just skeumorphism, which is oddly backward-looking for a company like Tesla.

So how come it doesn't?

Wouldn't kick the Ghibli II out of bed either.

This is a good one. Apparently it was named 8.32 because that's how many seconds the front tyres would last for.

Not sure why they feel the need to put a huge fake gaping-maw grill on it when there's nothing back there to cool.

It's so ugly since they facelifted it. Looks like one of those DB7 Zagatos with the gaping maw.

Thanks to Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive, the sexy RS7 rockets to 60 in just 3.4 seconds. Also, when has a sedan ever looked that good?

Few cars can deal well with such a radical face-transplant. The new grille isn't in harmony with the rest of the car at all.

But that's why we love Alfas! Doing everything well is so uninteresting.

I think its already back - the current hatchbacks (Giulietta and Mito) both have QV variants, and a 4C QV is rumoured. The GTA-badging of the 147/156 era seems to have been an odd diversion from the normal naming convention, especially since there was nothing lightweight about them at all.

I have to agree that the current crop doesn't appeal to me very much. The 4C is striking but it's not beautiful. The previous couple of generations (147, 156, 159/Brera) were a lot prettier.
