It's weird to think that back in the day they'd put together a dashboard like this and go 'yep, pretty good!'.

I don't think he has a lot of choice.

And the third one, for that matter. What are the chances?

That's my pet peeve too (since they only get the Cooper and S in the US, they seem to think the car is called a Mini Cooper). But the statement from the police says it's a Cooper S ...

Because there have been lots of different iterations of what BMW calls the 3-series. If you didn't refer to the chassis code, saying '3-series' could mean any of these:

I can vouch for the fact that if the E34 in question is a 24 year old 12-valve 520i, then it will not actually drift.

Well, they'd already had the six-cylinder 206 and 246 to get in a froth over by the time the 308 came along.

Tony Stewart would, and has in the past.

No, but Ward did have time to react when he realised Stewart was going to hit him - that's all the gif was to point out.

Honestly I don't think you can tell. There are very few frames between Stewart entering the shot, and the collision. I'm not sure you can see that he's speeding up.

The point of the matter is that we can't tell Stewart's intentions from the video. It looks like he tries to do something, gassing up right before he hit Ward. But it's not clear if Stewart could see him, or if he was trying to avoid him, or if he was trying to intimidate him.

He's not still walking at him, he's trying to dodge out of Stewart's path:

You can see he's trying to get out of the way at the last moment:

You mean drilled? Those are almost certainly vented, though you can't tell from that angle.

That's not camo, just a mule. Here's an early Panamera mule, though you'd never know it:

I'm sure if you ask nicely and write them a blank cheque it could happen.

Cricket's not really a sport, though - more like a way of being.

That's a good point, the power band is pretty much everywhere. But you could get some crazy acceleration with a super-short low gear.

Yeah, makes you wonder what kind of performance they could get from the Model S if it had a modern 8-speed.

Yep, but it seems like Tesla feels a single speed is sufficient for the current power unit. It's hardly compromised for acceleration, and 130mph is enough for most real world scenarios (Autobahn aside).
