We must live in the same city-- my friend’s dad was one of the two security guards who caught him (also it’s spelled Ng).

My favorite Dean Stockwell story: it was his idea to make Al Calavicci a cigar smoker. The reason? He figured it was a good way to get free cigars for five years. Not only talented, he was smart, too!
And yet “What Up With Dat?” returned several times after Lindsay Buckingham made his cameo, so they broke that rule.
The school board meeting was kind of a recurring sketch; it’s a slightly different setup but the same concept as this one, and Jan Krang and Scary Gary were both in it:
Same here-- I was thinking of Punkie Johnson this whole time.
The main criticism I’ve heard about Orange Julius over the years (I’m Canadian) is that it was always better when you were younger. It doesn’t matter how old you are or when you bought it, it’s not as good as it used to be. My parents would swear this repeatedly.
“Because there were no VCRs...”
No, Hope was supposedly killed in an explosion but was revealed to have survived and brought back by Stefano DiMera. It was the same actress, Kristian Alfonso, who played her both times.
I actually hadn’t heard about Charles Robinson before I read this so now I’m doubly depressed. :(
I remember both of those— she actually felt obliged to sleep with Dan because he had saved her life. I think she was choking and he gave her the Heimlich or something like that. The show really seemed to hit its stride when she joined the cast— Paula Kelly and Ellen Foley were fine but didn’t seem to click somehow.…
I used to think they could never work, then I found myself in one and it’s the greatest thing I ever did. It wasn’t always easy, and it was costly as we visited each other as much as possible (I’m in Canada, she’s in the UK), but thanks to Messenger and Skype we were still able to speak every single day so we were…
Yeah, credit to Affleck, he knows how to laugh at himself. I remember when he appeared on Leno and actually read some of the movie’s terrible reviews out loud. (The one I remember is “I had to cleanse my palate by watching “Glitter.”)
Yup, you got it right— Lopez dies in the beginning, which is why it’s funny that the movie got so much “Bennifer” coverage than was warranted.
I think it’s mostly because of the Reading Rainbow thing. He did seem to be a good host from what I remember, very affable and soothing, and he came across as very knowledgeable. Mind you I didn’t watch the show as much as my sister did, as I preferred my kids’ shows to have either cartoons or puppets. (Ironically, of…
Oh my god, her constant giggling was starting to get on my nerves. I wondered if someone was under the podium tickling her.

“ These weren’t “almost but not quite” products from the prop department, they were the actual Muppets!”
Yup-- and thanks to that movie, I actually got the references to “elf houses” in the sketch.
Do people notice that Leslie Jones isn’t there anymore though? Does anyone watch and think, “Man this show would be so much better if Leslie Jones was still on it”?
I had it on video when I was a young ghost and as far as my friends and I are concerned it was the funniest movie ever made. I’m a little worried about watching it now, as time and puberty may ruin the experience for me (although there are some parts I remember that still make me chuckle).
