I think some of them can be, as long as they get away from the one-joke “look how bad this is” premise. I remember a costume shop ad from a Halloween episode where the joke was that Jim Carrey was possessed by a demon that was pretty funny. (“Sexy Hunger Gaaaaaaaames!”)

I don’t know if anyone thought it was Lopez’s idea for the show to constantly point out how hot she is; I figured everyone assumed it was the writers’ call, since it makes for easy jokes.

It doesn’t take much at all to make her break. Every time I see her in a live sketch I know it’s just a matter of time before she loses it... and then I try and guess how Perkins will defend her in his review.
