@Odin: it wasnt terrible, perhaps a little rushed. The last episode of SG1 was a bit disappointing also. The problem is that there is not good way to end good series such as those.

@zeroprime: RAM is expensive, even if it isnt from a PC company. I did some "dream builds" on paper, and i7 cpus run for $200, high end GPUs for $299. RAM? $400..... not sure why though. its a bit absurd.

Im not feeling it. I dont have a DVR, I dont use netflix, and I have a webcam on my computer that I can use to connect to any of the people I know. I just dont see the reason to spent that much money on it.

@alienshards: not true. My $999 laptop ran crysis warhead almost completely on high with not problem. Id say the reason is that a controller with a tv is a lot friendlier to the end user than a computer is. It is simpler, and you dont have to know anything about settings.

I was looking at cars online and saw this exact one! buy it!!

@Monty: my $999 asus is more powerful than any laptop apple sells. i7-720qm, ati 5730m, etc. Wouldnt call them cutting edge for power. Visually, definitely though

The second one looks remarkably similar to a buzz bomb. I guess if it had a gps, it might work, unlike the german one which was more of a "point in the general direction" sort of thing

battery life may even be enough to get it to the next room of the house while its in sleep mode. seriously, just buy an LAN gamer pc and get a screen to go with it. probably cheaper that way
