Straight 6s are very American. Sure most of them were not so great but America has long been shoving I6s into places you would never expect.

I wish there were more discount sports cars. They would be great with V8s and turbo I4s. Sadly Chevy has tossed their turbo I4 to the bottom of the barrel pulling the same fake sports car duties as the V6.

I don’t need to google it to know they still sound like trash. But thankfully they end up being pretty quite in most cases since its a car for the person who wants a sports car without actually buying one.

Even with nothing obstructing the exhaust they still alter it even if only slightly. There is a list of good sounding V6s, but its not a very long one. Its mainly comprised of Italian and German V6s. I was being a bit hyperbolic here but as much as I love Nissan and Japanese cars theirs are so horrible sounding.…

They are underwhelming when stock and tossing an exhaust on them doesn’t do any favors. Only way to correct a VQ in any application is turbo or keep it quiet.

Those are running a supercharger right? Something about boost seems to help correct the bad noises even if it isn’t a turbo. Turbo VQs for instance are acceptable, not great but not offensive, you just don’t see them often in stuff like the Z.

Oh man the v6 Camaro is so much worse then the VQ. Thankfully not many people shove exhausts under them as they are mainly rentals and wife cars.
