I love the scene where Lamplighter shows up, acting all impressive, and the rest of them can’t help but snigger at his costume and bravado. Very funny.

So, Stormfront is a Nazi.
I don’t think Homelander is simple. He just never had to be clever. Just like he never had to learn to fight. He is just so massively overpowered he can destroy anything he doesn’t like without bothering with any subtleties. If wants something he just takes it. He is a spoiled toddler because he never had to learn…
Everyone stay for the fully-produced A-Train rap during the credits?
I don’t think she was ever searching for him, or anyone. That’s just what she needed to say in the moment to best manipulate him. As you said he’s all about his desperate need to be loved.
The Homelander Stormfront relationship ( so many shipping names) is so compelling and cringe inducing but I remain fascinated by the duo. Just look at their first date murder and blood sex next to a corpse in an alleyway. Stormfront is definitely using him but I also think she means what she says when speaking to him,…
I don’t think we were supposed to take away that Otho was a rapist because of the visions from the (probably evil) god. I think he was getting visions from the (probably evil) god because he’s a rapist.
Even though every swing they take doesn’t necessarily hit, I love how big the swings are.
I’m with Nilius here. It seems that mithraic way of raising the kids is so rigid that androids seem like a better caregivers when you get reminded what you’re coming back to.
Or maybe it’s not that bad and just crazy ass Marcus/Caleb scared the kids.
I don’t think they need to walk back the Ark being destroyed. It’s clear Sue doesn’t care about the Mithraics, that’s probably an understatement. So, the bulk of them being gone definitely works in her favor. She spent her whole life fighting them, I don’t think she’s about to mourn for them. It also seems like the…
I thought with Hunter it was just straight up guilt, and a good way to start rehabilitating a character who has at least provided some tension (as well as exposition about the Mithraic hierarchy).
I think Hunter is less attached to Mother then he is Father.
If you ever saw him on Vikings, this is the way he plays “weird”. His character’s mannerisms here are a copy/paste of Ragnar from Vikings.
i.e. A woman over 32?

My favorite episode is definitely the one where the weather is unseasonably warm in Chicago, so everyone starts acting out of character.
My wife and I WORSHIP this show. We even own the DVDs. It was an absolute classic.
was literally just thinking about My Boys the other day! So under-appreciated—definitely worth a rewatch, thank you for helping me figure out where to watch it!
I was always kind of surprised that Jordana Spiro didn’t become a bigger deal. She did that Mob Doctor show that lasted about five minutes, then apparently vanished off the face of the Earth.
I liked My Boys a lot, but there’s only two lines of dialogue that have stuck with me over the years:
