Yeah, Timm and Dini’s work without each others’ influence and the constraints of ‘tv for kids’ has been somewhat less than stellar, so I’m having a hard time getting particularly excited about this.

Yeah, definitely seems to be Smallville geography, where Metropolis could literally be seen from the top of a windmill in Smallville.
When Hague is in the mental hospital he comes across much more modern than I really cottoned to before. People in the show have probably ignored it on the basis that he’s an eccentric American, but he’s my number one candidate for being the other ‘stowaway.’ Especially if he’s building the cyborgs.
The random super-powers are (apparently) an accident and what was supposed to be granted was ‘empathy enhancement,’ and presumably were going to be dusted over the whole world instead of just one city. Enhanced empathy at the dawn of the colonial era would do a lot more good than in the late 19th Century.
I got the impression that Stripe had True’s ‘ripplings’ in the future segment, and either the Galanthi in the future created both Stripes and Spores, with different abilities, or a Stripe’s abilities are unrelated to the arrival of the Galanthi and the ripplings are a side effect of the drugs this Stripe was taking,…
Mrs. True is DEFINITELY from the future. Or rather, whoever is wearing her skin is. And she’s told Penance all about it. “We don’t attend funerals WHEN I’m from.”
Mrs. True’s own ripplings (and I swear there is something else going on with her, there has to be)
Pretty sure it wasn’t until 7 or 8 that Vin and The Rock started having beef with each other, because that’s when the studio started seriously talking about a Hobbes-centric spin off movie.
Had Catalyst been the original it would probably be thought of a lot more fondly, but the original Mirror’s Edge is one of those all too rare examples of a game built around a single mechanic and executing on it to near perfection while also marrying it to a deceptively simple and totally unique art style that makes…
The operative word here was ‘good.’ Yes, In-n-out fries are a fresh cut fry. What they are not is a good fresh cut fry.
Now if only HBO Max would resurrect the 2010 Thundercats reboot the same way they did Young Justice...
I think the ‘beta male’ thing probably contributes to him being the worst.
I walked past him and lady he was with late one night near The Fonda on Hollywood Boulevard as I as on my way back from a movie and everything about the body language between them was screaming that their date was pretty much done and she just wanted him to shut the fuck up. She was walking two or three feet in front…
Still pretty weird that the prom king and queen were brother and sister.
The previous year, GKIDS, a New York-based distributor of independent and international animation, slipped into the race with small gems from abroad, Song Of The Sea and The Tale Of The Princess Kaguya, while the enormous hit The Lego Movie wasn’t nominated.
I think he’s saying it barely even counts as a popularity contest because an overwhelming majority of the Academy membership hasn’t even seen the films in question.
It also is another in the long line of Card stories where children will commit murder at the drop of a hat. The bullies at Tony’s school shove him into the incinerator and a young Obadiah Stane (who is the same age as Tony) talks another student at the Baxter Building into jumping off the roof just for shits and…
The first X-Men movie came out in 2000. Ultimate X-Men didn’t start until 2001.
Early Ultimate Fantastic Four (when it was being written as a YA sci-fi adventure series) probably holds up pretty well.
Possibly. A big reason that devs go with Unreal over Unity is because the full engine source access allows them to make pretty significant under the hood changes to push the engine a little harder or in directions that it wasn’t exactly designed for.
