I totally get the LGBT need to connect, but I would contest that the largest voice in this need to 'ship brotherly characters are from straight women. Not all straight women mind you, but there is this bond that the ones who do get positively gigglesquirmy over the idea of platonic relationships going all the way

Why is the idea of two men having a platonic, brother-like relationship such a boring idea and simply because they'll die for one another they clearly need to be in a sexual relationship with one another?
