I still don’t get the Nest - I have a programable thermostat - anyone with a house less than 20 years old probably does as well. I set it up a years ago, and it has just enough flexibility to fit our schedule - I hardly ever touch it. The Nest seems like a solution looking for a problem.

I lived for 10 years next to the Chevron refinery in El Segundo CA, and did not once commit a violent crime.  In fact, the refinery is right between El Segundo and Manhattan beach.  Not hot beds of violent crime.  Please explain?
