Can I just say that these are all amazing? My finances were a mess until Kristen opened Two Cents. I read it all because I trust Lifehacker and love this community.

This hints at a really important point that I think was missed in the article.

I've never been "bitten" so far, unless you mean saving hundreds of dollars is being bitten.

Target date plans also generally have lower expense ratios associated with them as well. The expense ratio is how much you pay to have your money managed for you.
