How close does it actually cut? I shave my head completely bald but I don’t use a razor blade, so I want as close of a cut as I can get. I used to use the lowest possible setting on a traditional pair of clippers but then I found a beard trimmer that cuts even closer, even though it’s a bit of a pain to use.

As an Iowan, I’m at a loss. Grassley used to be sane and mentally sound. Now he’s an old blubbering idiot. Ernst is a GOP puppet who hasn’t had an independent thought since...? King is a national embarrassment. David Young is a spineless twit. Blum is a dick. Dave Loebsack, not coincidentally the only Democrat in the

How quaint. A Republican who actually thinks his party cares about him.

Those are perfectly legitimate concerns. *Nobody* is claiming the ACA is perfect, least of all the people who passed it and certainly not me. There are people like you whose concerns under the current law need addressed. But Republicans refused to participate in negotiations and have done absolutely zero since its

The point I was making is that it’s actually quite common for the government to compel us to buy things. I realize the auto insurance to health insurance comparison isn’t perfect. Yes, in the case of auto insurance you shouldn’t buy it if you don’t own a car. Health insurance is different. Even if you are young and

If you want to own a car, you need to purchase auto insurance. If you want to participate in the health care system - as in, if you *ever* expect to visit a doctor or hospital, which is basically every American ever born - you need to purchase health insurance.

The GOP, where life begins at conception and ends at birth.

You mean like we do with auto insurance?

Nobody wants to pay for healthcare coverage when they don’t need it, but everyone wants good coverage at a reasonable cost when they do need it. And therein lies the rub.

Great philosophical arguments. The topic we’re discussing, however, is quite clear. One political party in the wealthiest, supposedly most advanced nation on earth wants to provide healthcare for its citizens in a responsible manner. One side does not.

I reject that. If, every time there is disagreement, we throw up our hands and says “Oh, those politicians!” then people will not know any better and continue to vote for their favorite side, which for Republican voters means they will continue to vote against their own interest, as they have for my entire life.

That’s okay, say the Republicans (sorry to be partisan, but they’re all Republicans) who plan to vote for zombie Trumpcare.

I’m really late to this, but what the heck. I haven’t had one in years, so I can’t pretend this is even a rare luxury for me anymore. But when I was a kid I somehow discovered the deliciousness of a crunchy peanut butter and bologna sandwich. Put it in the microwave for a little bit - maybe 20 or 30 seconds, I don’t

Don’t forget to delete the cached data under the phone’s settings, and also checked for cached maps and music in those apps as well. I was bumping up against my limit for a long time, deleting extra apps for space, until I discovered this.

Good for him. He’s right. This was not an officiating error in the last 2:00 when his team *probably* would have won. This actually, literally decided the game on the last play. If the blunder hadn’t been made, OSU wins right on the spot. And yet we can’t make this right because we have dumb rules. So good for him.

Then there are the states that put up signs of their own at every crash fatality site. South Dakota does this. Drive through the state and you’ll see hundreds of these by the road - but usually just far enough away that you squint to try to read the sign, thus increasing your risk of getting into an accident yourself.

    Fuck Kansas!

I’m looking for a good Adobe Acrobat substitute. It doesn’t need to be anywhere near as fully-featured...this is just for personal documents I scan in and store. (I try to go as paperless as possible.) Basically all I need is the ability to compress documents, merge PDFs, and move pages around within documents. Ideas?

    Raise this up on high.
