The speed increase is definitely noticeable. I was nearly lost there for a second without Tab Mix Plus but with the dev build I'm good to go. Still missing updates for Better GReader, Better GCal, Customize Google, and FoxyTunes.

You can force open a new tab with Tab Mix Plus, plus if you assign keywords to each site in your search bar you should never have to worry about resetting to your default search engine or clearing the search bar.
