You're just telling us what you think a score should mean, rather than what it actually means. The convention among game reviewers is to attach seemingly high numerical scores to poorly reviewed games. Most reviewers essential score games on a scale of 7-10.

What was the last full-priced game you bought that had a metascore below 7.5? That's why a 7.5 is bad.

76-77 has always been a bad score for a game.

There are likely royalty payments to the developer based on sales numbers, or profit sharing or something. The Metacritic bonus is a compensation for creative success as determined by independent parties that is not dependent on sales.

I actually think the endgame is better than the campaign.

But reviewers don't reward padded game-time or half-baked, tacked on features, and they don't punish risk-taking. I don't think any developer has ever successfully managed to improve a review score by copy-pasting two hours worth of hallways full of dudes hiding behind crates into a game.

Yeah, as a result of the tyranny of Metacritic scores, we'll be stuck playing shit like The Last of Us, GTA V and Skyrim. I guess gaming is doomed.

There are a lot of libertarian comedians, but very few conservative ones, and a lot of liberal comedians, but very few progressive ones. Until you actually take the time to figure out why this is, you are always going to be disappointed by Patton Oswalt or Louis CK or Ricky Gervais or any other comedian you expect to

In X and Y, every trainer has a number between 1 and 4000 randomly assigned to them, and every egg has a secret number as well. The Pokemon is shiny when the egg's number matches the trainer's.

Because activists have been more successful in shaping sexual assault policies on college campuses than they have been in shaping criminal standards, and, as such, there is a lot of sex that is rape as defined by college conduct codes that is not rape elsewhere.

The reason it seems like vitriol and rage is the predominant response among people who disagree with Sarkeesian is that she understands the utility of these threats and attacks for her self-promotion.

This article doesn't make this clear, but the rape happened fifteen years ago, this guy went to prison for it, and he's apparently still under the supervision of the state corrections department.

A felon in possession of a firearm is guilty of a federal weapons charge, so this is a situation where the DOJ could just round these guys up and send them all to federal prison, despite the fact that the state has decided to give them back their gun ownership rights.

This video had more slow-motion dick-punching than I expected.

Fifteen years ago, Diablo 2 segregated offline characters from online characters because there was an economy among players, and the loot could be manipulated by third party programs in offline modes.
