They had an article on good etiquette when you have house guests, which included providing them with your network name and password, but I have never see anything here suggesting you leave your home network wide open to everyone.

@bustedchain: Yeah, OS X is amazingly lax about this sort of thing, as a default, it'll autoconnect to a network it has connected to in the past if your network is down for some reason. You actually have to turn on a preference to have it prompt you.
