Fair enough, but I think judging someone who grew up at the turn of the 20th century in an almost all white society by our modern standards is a bit odd. I'm sure you can find these sorts of flaws in most historical figures, black, white, or purple.

Why would it be uncomfortable for myths created by an english author in the early 20th century to "skew white"? When for most of history up to that time england had been 95% or more white? You wouldn't say a myth created by an African author as a sort of "African myth" skewed "uncomfortably black" would you?

I don't recall them mentioning anything else happening besides his pain nerves not working, his body was the same otherwise, as evidenced when Oliver severed all his tendons and he couldn't move.

They've had a few of these issues with the flashbacks and kind of forgetting where they went with them. I get it's hard to keep up with the continuity but this is one of a few of the errrors they've had with them.
