AHHHH cute puppy! Thank you!!!

Thank you so much! (All of you!!)

I'm so sorry. I'm only undergrad, so my experience may not apply to your level of stress. But when I'm really feeling like I just can't work but I have to because due dates, I work by pots of tea. I make a pot of my favorite, take a nice long sip, then delve until the pot is gone. I get a break while the water is

You guys, I've been waiting all week for this open thread, because I've been feeling stuck and alone and like nothing will ever change for me. But yesterday I submitted an application (for another retail job, but this one is for big bookstore chain and therefore has more potential for raises/promotions than my 4

Today is definitely my blue Monday, but not because of math. My car computer decided it didn't want to work any more, and I have no idea how I will make it to work the next week, because rental cars are expensive, and we stopped paying insurance on Mr. Sweet's car six months ago to save money.

"We don't like what we don't understand, in fact, it scares us."

I almost clicked away from the article, but I ended up hate-reading it just so I could get to the comments, in the hope that someone would articulate how awful this crap is. Thank you for the comment, because I am far too ragey to write anything coherent.

How did you know that the guys staring at you were gay? I'm guessing it might be because you were in a safe-feeling environment at the time, where you knew the atmosphere was gay friendly, and it was very likely that you were surrounded by like-minded people. Or, maybe, you are lucky enough to feel safe walking the

Freeze peach!! Something something murica, first amendment something intolerance blah blah blah liberals ruining the country.

I know I am late to the party, so this may go unseen. BUT DID ANYONE SEE ONCE UPON A TIME?! I am completely addicted to this show, and I simply do not care if some people disagree with me on this, it is amazing. BUT BUT BUT!! DID YOU SEE THE SPOILERY THING THAT MAKES ME SAD LIKE THE SADDEST PANDA?! I am losing my

This one too. ....I may have a thing for beards.

I don't know, I think this man would suit me juuuust fine.

I... ahem... yum.

I knew I was in love when I kept finding the words on the tip of my tongue. I would say goodnight over the phone and have to stop myself from saying "I love you." We had only been dating for a few months, but finally, I felt like not saying it was scarier than saying it and being rejected. I could happily imagine my

Should have been a box of cannoli.

I love this. It reminds me of my childhood, when I would insist that every single decoration goes on the tree!!! Now the boyfriend and I have our own place and cats that would just trash it all anyway (they are adorable demons), so no tree.

Awesome, thank you for the recommendation. You're right, its so complex, and part of the problem is that there's this huge value judgement levied against sex workers. They must be trafficked/druggies/homeless/helpless, and even the people who don't automatically think they are bad people assume it must be a bad

If I remember my history correctly, that Italian model was Cesare Borgia, son of one of the "worst" popes in history. Worst is in quotes because I freaking love the Borgias, and they did amazing things for the arts.

And in the end, using 'whore' and 'prostitute' as insults dehumanizes and dismisses an entire group of women, and of course the men and transfolk who are sex workers as well.

You can criticize prostitution without criticizing prostitutes. You can say that abuse, sex trafficking, and drug culture are bad without saying that the women who ended up in those situations are bad. There are plenty of women who choose to be sex workers, and they shouldn't be dismissed just because they were not
