Georgia's social values (and attitudes to women) are, unfortunately, stuck somewhere in the 1950s. The younger generation seem to be increasingly progressive, although orthodox Christianity is the norm there, and is a huge part of the problem :(
The figures are shocking and it's understandable you're in denial. But instead of spending all your thought-time trying to bend over backwards to make the situation seem less sexist, why not spend that time wondering why you find these FACTS so hard to swallow.
I know, and I expect they will run a bigger story later. But this is Dirt Bag; pretty big dirt to miss out.
Nothing about Hope Solo? OK, then...
Horrible people = horrible show.
Well, I'm talking about the script... so you're probably missing reading comprehension skills.
Yeah, I'm the opposite. Waaaay more now in my 40s than ever in my 20s. Always have had boyfriend/husband, so always having lots of sex, too.
Nope. I'd take Mapplethorpe in the early 70s, though. (Yes, I know he was gay. He and Patti Smith were knocking boots in those days, though. Beautiful man)
Yep, not what I said. Context is everything (superstar who young girls look up to/men's magazine cover, ie. GQ). Notice also my italics.
I agree with bell hooks. I think a lot of the women who think Beyoncé is 'a good thing' for women and feminism are young and naive. When you've lived a few more years on this planet and you've accrued more personal experience of the true depth and breadth of misogyny at work in our society, you realize how damaging it…
Yeah. I'm 46, no wrinkles, no botox *shrugs*. Genetics and staying out of the sun.
OMG I HAD COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN ABOUT BUSTA RHYMES. That video is one of my favorites of all time!
Really? You wouldn't want to have sex with Mads Mikkelsen, George Clooney, or Viggo Mortensen? Cool, I'll take 'em!
Also the two Capote movies and the two Hitchcock ones; poor old Toby Jones was in the versions of both that did less well.
What's the storage solution for too many shoes? Asking for a friend...
Gah! Body-snarking flips my switch.
Seriously? Last week it was someone complaining that Jon Hamm's arms weren't "big" enough, and now you, with this bullshit. And even if it were true, who fucking cares? Let me give you a clue, dude - besides you? NOBODY. If you have to resort to finding fault with the way a person's ears look to make yourself feel…
Yep, me too.
