Fucking hell, that's a pretty low bar to earn praise for.

Appletini, I feel like my comment was a bit too dismissive and I just wanted to apologize; I was feeling a little exasperated after my conversation with dobetterish. Sorry!

You read this whole thread and that is the comment you leave? *Sigh* Comprehension fail. But, yes, sure, you're entitled to your opinion, however ill-founded.

Why am I talking about this? Because I object to opinion being touted as fact; it encourages a mob mentality, which is harmful to society. See also: Fox News.

I disagree. It takes more than one person saying something for me to believe something is true; that does not mean I think that one person is lying.

No, of course not. That is the opposite of what I am trying to say - which is, that we should not jump to any conclusion.

Right, but is it fair to assume the teacher is guilty - as this headline does, and many commenters here are doing - on the word of one kid, before the investigation has reached a conclusion? That is the only point I am making.

Oops! My bad. Although, I would say that, of course the parents of the girl would (and should) believe everything their daughter is telling them, so they are simply repeating what their daughter said; ergo, this is still the word of one kid.

I've read this three times and I still can't figure out what you're trying to say. BUT if it's something to do with witnesses, they are not mentioned anywhere in the source story - which is on a legit news website, where the headline is also worth noting: 'Science teacher's alleged inappropriate comment'. Unless Erin

Kid says teacher said something, everyone here automatically believes kid without hearing the teacher's version of events?

OMG Is it hipster-cool to un-ironically ironically be into boy bands now? LOLWUT LMFAO

"Is their food prep hygiene that bad?"

Thanks, Obama!

I hope you are very young, like a teenager or in your early 20s. Otherwise, I'm afraid you are just either very sheltered or very dumb.

Yes. What does that have to do with it?

Yeah, that comment was a dead giveaway; it's fine not make your children the center of the entire universe (indeed, preferable), but to not compromise your lifestyle at all, when something you 'kinda feel like doing' is a danger to their lives? Fucking idiotic and irresponsible.

LOL NO

"I'd group it with people who raise their children on off-the-grid homesteads in the middle of nowhere: Fine as a life choice for adults, probably not the most responsible thing to do with little kids."

YES. This, too.

That's a good point. I bet driving is the most dangerous activity we do on a regular basis. However, in order to live our lives and participate in modern society, driving is essential for most people - it's a calculated risk that we take every time we get into a car, especially with young children. I wouldn't say

Right. There is no reading of this incident that can possibly come to any conclusion other than the parents are both very dumb and/or very selfish. I wouldn't say I hated them, so much as pity them.
