Well see, this is 100% different now, so compromise is a necessary requirement, even if here, “compromise” is just double-talk for “stripping basic human rights from women”. We aren’t talking about voting for a female candidate! Compromise already! /S
Now, in about two weeks, they can vote for Mello or a GOP incumbent from hell. That’s it.
Nothing to say except ABSOLUTELY IN AGREEMENT.
I vote, I donate, and I protest for women’s rights and for healthcare for all.
“This will win over people. How is Bernie wrong? We need to win more fucking elections, not score moral high ground.”
Likability only matters when you are a woman ;)
My cynical heart goes out to you. I do hope things get better.
So it’s the Dem’s fault for not having a progressive enough agenda, but he’s totes ok with a male Democrat with regressive views on women’s rights to reproductive choice. Mmmm hmmmmm, ‘k.
The issue is he didn’t endorse Ossoff, and that he made very “oh well” remarks about Mello’s anti-women stances.
No one is saying that. We are saying he endorsed this guy when he didn’t Ossoff, and said Ossoff wasn’t progressive, when he is. We are saying he didn’t say, let’s take what we can get, but that, well, who cares about being anti choice.
The hypocrisy of Bernie’s stance on this is frustrating. You can argue that being anti-choice shouldn’t be disqualifying for a Democrat in a very socially conservative state. But don’t turn around and bash another Democrat for not supporting a $15 minimum wage. Either you agree with purity tests for candidates or you…
“Idon’t think we should abandon our principles so easily, but I understand what he’s trying to get at.”
I get the strategy here but it makes me really fucking angry because it was ideological differences MUCH smaller than this that made Bernie supporters hate Hilary. You know... unless it was something else. But, I’m not sure what that could be.
He’s supporting a candidate who is anti-choice right NOW. And failing to see how abortion access and economic prosperity go hand in hand. Your comparisons makes no sense.
Yes. Because not being pro-choice means women can’t decide what happens to their own bodies. You can personally decide to never have an abortion (I wouldn’t have one) but you can’t decide for half the population. At its core it’s anti-feminist. You could have googled that easily. There is a wealth of knowledge. But…
Hey, maybe put a civil right on the line that actually effects you personally? Maybe just don’t endorse that one guy? Have Bob Casey go up there and talk about being a semi-anti-choice democrat. There are plenty of people getting their campaigns up who pro-choice and pro-LGBT and pro-economic equality. Put your…
For someone who is not a Democrat, Sanders spends a lot of time dictating how the party should run.
But I think you just can’t exclude people who disagree with us on one issue.
For someone who is not a Democrat, Sanders spends a lot of time dictating how the party should run. He has been harmful not helpful to the party and the DNC needs to stop acting like making overtures to him accomplishes anything. All of this is just about Sanders’ ego.
