You do realize that a pro-woman discussion of female comics allows Maria Bamford and Amy Schumer to co-exist? Schumer’s success is only a detriment to Bamford if you believe that women inherently must compete with one another and that there’s only room for one of them.

Why the *cringe*? My 7 month old is named Greta. My husband and I love it and always say that we nailed it on picking her name. No regrets! I haven’t come across another child Greta since having her. Plus my mother in law is German, so it sounds awesome when she says her name with her thick accent.

I love my name (Daniel) because my mother told me that I was originally going to be named James, but about a week before I was born my grandmother (her mother-in-law, who happened to love the name James) did something to piss her off and she named me Daniel out of spite towards my grandmother.

This bothers me too. Tests of agility or strength - sure, absolutely. But for the tests that literally require a specific height - those should be adjusted or replaced.

After reading this thread, it occurs to me that this is one reason why there are so many raging parents today demanding teachers treat their kids like special snowflakes. So many teachers got away with mistreating/abusing a lot of us when we were little.
